Hoisin Sauce 海鲜酱

I did it! I finally figured out something my wife had been requesting for years. ‘Please make hoisin sauce. Please make hoisin sauce. Please make hoisin sauce, I know you can do it!’ 

And the answer was hidden within the pulp conundrum of soy sauce. Randomly browsing through my copy of one of my food science books, and there under hoisin sauce, was my answer. So many imaginary lightbulbs flashed and blinked that moment! 

Favourite way to serve: peking duck pancakes! Or as a dipping sauce for rice paper rolls. And if you are my mother, as part of a char siew marinade. 

Ingredients: soy*, wheat*, sugar*, vinegar, chilli*, garlic* and salt
